Data freshness and latency

Consultad syncs your advertising data through two pipelines. Understanding how they work helps explain why some date ranges show data immediately and others may appear empty.

Daily pipeline (T-1)

The daily pipeline is the primary data source for all connected accounts:

  • Schedule: Runs overnight, every night.
  • Data delivered: Yesterday's finalized metrics.
  • Availability: Data for the previous day is typically available by early morning.
  • Coverage: All connected ad accounts on all supported platforms.

This means that when you open the dashboard in the morning, you will see complete data through yesterday. This is referred to as T-1 (today minus one day).

Realtime pipeline

The realtime pipeline provides intraday data - metrics from today that update every few hours:

  • Schedule: Runs multiple times per day.
  • Data delivered: Today's partial metrics, updated incrementally.
  • Availability: Enabled per tenant. Not all accounts have realtime data active.

If the realtime pipeline is enabled for your account, you will see today's data updating throughout the day. These numbers are preliminary and may adjust slightly when the daily pipeline delivers the finalized figures overnight.

Why does today show no data?

If you select "today" as your date range and see no data, the most common reasons are:

  1. Realtime pipeline is not enabled for your tenant. The daily pipeline only delivers yesterday's data, so today will be empty until the overnight sync runs.
  2. It is early in the day. Even with the realtime pipeline, the first update may not have run yet.
  3. No ad spend today. If your campaigns did not run or had zero spend, there are no metrics to show.

How to get realtime data

The realtime pipeline is available for accounts on the standard and enterprise tiers. To enable it for your tenant, contact support. Once activated, today's data will begin appearing in your dashboard within a few hours.

Historical data

When you first connect an ad platform, Consultad pulls historical data going back to when you first started using the platform (subject to the ad platform's API retention limits). This initial sync may take a few hours for large accounts.
