Connect Meta Ads
Connecting your Meta Ads accounts lets Consultad pull in your campaign data, display it on the dashboard, and make it available to AI-powered analytics and chat.
Prerequisites
- A Consultad account (see Create your account).
- A Meta Business account with at least one active ad account.
- Admin or advertiser access to the ad accounts you want to connect.
Step-by-step
- In the Consultad sidebar, go to Settings > Connections.
- Find the Meta Ads card and click Connect.
- You will be redirected to Meta's OAuth authorization screen. Log in with the Facebook account that has access to your ad accounts.
- Review and approve the requested permissions:
- ads_read - allows Consultad to read your campaign performance data.
- ads_management - allows Consultad to manage campaigns when you use write actions in chat (every write action requires your explicit confirmation).
- business_management - allows Consultad to list the ad accounts under your Business Manager.
- After approving, you are returned to Consultad. Select which ad accounts you want to sync from the list that appears.
- Click Save to confirm your selection.
Data sync timing
- First sync - your historical data begins importing immediately. Depending on the volume, the initial sync can take a few hours to complete.
- Daily sync - after the first sync, data is updated once per day with the previous day's results.
- Realtime sync - for tenants with realtime pipeline enabled, today's data is refreshed throughout the day.
You will see your Meta Ads data on the dashboard once the first sync finishes.
Permissions and security
Consultad stores your connection credentials securely using a secure credential vault. Your data is isolated in a dedicated tenant - no other organization can access it.
The ads_management permission does not mean Consultad will modify your campaigns automatically. All write actions go through a confirmation gate - you must explicitly approve each action before it executes.
